What is a Curriculum Vitae or résumé?
-
A curriculum vitae [Latin for the
course or race of life; plural curricula vitae], or
CV for short, is a professional statement or résumé
of whom you are.
-
If you are unsure how to write your CV, go to
Sun-Translation
and click on the language of your choice, where
you will find in DE EN ES FR IT and PT a detailed
explanation of what is essential, and what is not,
in a CV.
-
A curriculum vitae should be updated at least
TWICE per year or whenever any significant
change is registered in your professional life.
-
As your CV will most likely and most frequently
be sent as an attachment by eMail, ensure that it is
not more than 250KB in size. Clients and Agencies do
not like CVs which take ages to download.
-
04 Do
I really need a CV?
-
Yes. A well presented CV is absolutely necessary
for a translator.
-
It is a professional statement of how you see
yourself and of whom you are.
-
05
Does Sun-Translation send the CV of a
translator to a client?
-
Never, unless the translator sends a specific
eMail authorizing the sending of the CV.
-
As a matter of statistical record,
Sun-Translation's clients rarely ask for the CV, but
rely on our professional judgment that the
translator, to whom we have assigned the job, is the
best one available.
